'A General History of Pirates' was first published in 1724, purportedly written by a Captain Charles Johnson. It was not until 1932 that its authorship was correctly attributed to Daniel Defoe. It remains a major source of information about piracy in the first quarter of the eighteenth century. This 1"-scale blank miniature version, with cover illustration by N.C.
