Toy Soldiers in Box

A charming set of old-fashioned toy soldiers. The metal soldiers are exquisitely handpainted, and come in their own box. I designed the box lid using antique artwork. The 4-soldier unit measures 9/16" (14mm) tall and 3/4" (20mm) across.

I finish these cast-metal miniatures myself. Before I even begin painting I put a lot of work into filing and cleaning to remove seam lines and other mold artifacts, and into refining and restoring details obscured in the casting process. I use a variety of painting techniques to achieve a realistic finish, with single-hair paintbrushes (and even the occasional cat whisker) to do the fine details. Finally I add gold leaf, flocking, and other finishing trims. I do all of this to create true heirloom-quality miniatures that you will be proud to display in your scenes.
